When listing upcoming events in the simplecalendar module I'd like to also see events currently ongoing. Events spanning several days disappear after first day.

Maybe it should be a separate, new event list type (perhaps named "upcoming and ongoing events"), but here's a basic change which uses the "upcoming" event type to show what I mean:

I downloaded and installed SimpleCalendar 3.1, created an event with start date yesterday and end date today. This event isn't visible "today".

Am I missing anything? How was this implemented in SimpleCalendar 3.1?

Bug found and corrected, will be released with 3.1.1 soon.
