Hi there and welcome to SimpleCalendar. This event management component is meant to simplify your life as a web-admin.
The component is (or should be) pretty much self-explanatory. HEre are the basic steps for getting started with SimpleCalendar.
  1. Download and install the component, as per Joomla standard procedure using the extension management console in the admin backend. Installation should quit with a confirmation that everything went smoothly.
  2. Head over to the Components Menu and select "SimpleCalendar > Category". You will need to add at least one category for your events before you can add an event itself. Adding a category is easy: click on the New button, fill in the name (e.g. "Tournaments") and save - done!
  3. Now you are ready to add an event. Head over to SimpleCalendar > Calendar and click on the New button top left corner. Compulsory fields are the event name, the venue, the category and a start date. All other fields are for your convenience, but not needed.

To display a calendar in the frontend follow these simple steps:
  1. Go to Menu Manager in the admin backend and add a Menu that points to "SimpleCalendar - List view". You have a lot of options there, like filtering for a specific category. We will deepen our insight into all options at a later stage.
  2. Open up the frontend, look for the menu - done!
