crimle created the topic: I guess there are some bugs
1. Components > SimpleCalendar > Calendar
If you click "New" you would expect to create a new calendar. In fact you create a new event. So in my opinion this section should be named "Events".

2. Settings > Date/time formats
2.1. If your backend language is set to "German" the hyperlink behind PHP date() is invalid.

2.2 The fourth setting "Date format" obviously concerns the time-format not the date-format. So both caption and tooltip-text are wrong. In addition to that, the German translation of this option is completely wrong. It says "Datum-Format (Backend)" but it concerns neither the date-format nor the backend.

3. Settings > Informations
Sorry for being a bit schoolmasterly. The word "Informations" does not exist in English (there is no plural) so it's just "Information".

Thank you for this great and simple to use extension. I'm glad you finally decided to go on developping SimpleCalendar.

Your guess is right, there are bugs... B) Will look into them ASAP.

Thanks for the information about "informations" (italian has the plural form, english has not...)

4. Frontend-Editing: Captions with queer characters
Log in to the frontend > edit an existing event or add a new event. The german letters "ä" "ö" or "ü" in the captions are displayed with a Unicode REPLACEMENT CHARACTER .

5. Frontend Editing: event can not be saved
- Log in to the frontend
- Edit an existing event, then click [Save]. A "404 Error" occurs and the message "Category not found" is displayed.
- Add a new event, then click [Save]. Everything is all right.
- Now edit the recently added event, then click [Save]. Again the "404 Error" occurs and the message "Category not found" is displayed.

1. Pretty much subjective, but see your point.
2.1 Missing escape char before double quotes - corrected.
2.2 Translation error - corrected
3. Corrected
4. Does not happen here on my installation (or I haven't understood the problem)
5. Happens with SEF URLs on only, will check corrected

Thanks :-)

Hier is some additional information to the issue
4. Frontend-Editing: Captions with queer characters

I can see the tabs like this
"Detail | Organisatoren | Zustzliche Informationen | Verffentlichung | Meta Daten | Zugriffsberechtigung"

So I downloaded "de-DE.com_simplecalendar.ini" and opened it with Notpad++. The encoding was "ANSI". Then I converted the file to UTF-8 without BOM, saved and uploaded the file. Now the tabs look fine:
"Detail | Organisatoren | Zusätzliche Informationen | Veröffentlichung | Meta Daten | Zugriffsberechtigung"

So it's just a matter of the encoding of the language file.

By the way:
I did some translation work for your project on Transifex. Hope it will be useful.
