OK, I found out what was causing this. Basically, I applied the bug fix (below) that was suggested in another post by Benni, I think

(I analyzed the source code and I found the solution:
File: <joomla>/components/com_simplecalendar/models/events.php (Line: 361)
I changed this line if ( $categoryArray[0] != '' )
to if ( !is_array($categoryArray) )
and now it works fine.)

I reinstall the component - overriding the fix - and now I get correct dates / events however - time still sets to 0:00 0:00.

Yeah the fix is / was incomplete and I'm still working on the optimal solution there. Look forward to 3.0.5 soon.

EDIT 2013-06-26: just as a warning to others: the above code fix by "hdgc" is not correct (not 100% at least) and may lead to errors. I'm working on it.

Just to be clear - it was not my fix - I got it from another forum poster Benni1601 :)

:)

I added two config switches that now allows users to show or hide the buttons in the frontend list and event detail view.
In the configuration of SimpleCalendar, you can now choose to show the Print and/or the vCAL/iCAL icon in both list and detail view. Available in 3.0.5 soon.
