Hi all, it seems like there's not been a loto of activity out here lately, but this is a false impression. I've been working hard on SimpleMemberships, the second project of mine, that shall see its first productive use kick off this month, and on a custom project that shall reach completion by the end of august. Work (I mean day full-time job) has picked up a little bit as well after months of relative calm, so things are definitely looking better now. Many people ask me about Joomla 1.6 (or shall I say 1.7?) compatibility. As of now, there's no plan to start working on such versions. I know I might upset (and disappoint) a lot of people with this statement, but fact is that neither of the many, many site I run (either privately or at work) are J1.6 and they run fine so I don't need to upgrade them to the latest Joomla. As soon as I migrate those sites you can be sure that SimpleCalendar and SimpleMemberships will be available on J1.6+ too. It definitely will happen, I can't - at this time - tell you when exactly. I thank you for your understanding. I also started working on SimpleCurling, it's a simple (as it says) tournament management system for curling events, my favourite sport. After having used what is considered the best (?) curling software available (and having lost & re-entered data many times in the process) , I selected to write a small piece of software on my own. It is currently being finished and will be available in late fall, early winter at the earliest. I will be away from August 4 to 15 so I took down the forum (having spam issues -> please pm me if you can help in keeping the forum spam-free, it's a time-consuming task that I'm tired to do), will reopen as soon as I'm back. Have a nice holiday season! |
