I'm very happy to announce that a new release of SimpleCalendar has been published and is ready for download. Many new things have found their way into this release, thus it 'gained' the status of a so-called 'minor' release (the '8' in '0.8' in the version numbering). First of all, the SEF/SEO routing has been completely reviewed and now is consistent throughout the component. Secondly, categories are now parsable from a very simple list -- the old "category colours" list, which is now clickable! The Google Maps box, formerly found in a pop-up box, is now in a modal box, which adds to the overall tidy appearance (and is not blocked by pop-up-blockers anymore). Many bugs were adressed and -I'm sure- many more will be found and corrected in future, thanks to your reports.

To suit the changes in the main component, also both modules, the event list and the event countdown module, were modified accordingly. They are now fully SEF/SEO enabled, as well as some minor bugs were corrected.

Due to those changes, it is very likely that most links (all static links, for sure) won't work anymore after the upgrade. This is a hard step to take, but the only one if we want to improve this product. I hope you approve of my choices. Also bad news for those who use third-party SEF/SEO engines: the plugins will surely need to be updated soon. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
