I just released SimpleCalendar v.0.7b which features one of the most requested improvements: file upload. To each event, you can now add a document (flyer, PDF, whatever) which can be downloaded from the event detail page. Allowed extensions, as per now: JPG, PNG, GIF, TXT, ZIP, DOC, ODT, PPT, XLS and PDF. I must say that this is new ground for me and I appreciate every comment (in the forum) about this function, as well as about possible security holes in my implementation (which I tried to minimize). I cannot guarantee it works 100% of the time, if not please provide some feedback!

Other news: category colors! Following a request, colors can now be added to each category and thus be displayed on the left side of the event row. A tooltip also tells you which category it is by only positioning your mouse over the colored bar. Again, your feedback is valuable to improve this feature!

Another note is about the demo site: since I don't have direct access to my web server (it is hosted), I cannot put in place a demo site that resets itself after a day or some hours. Nevertheless, I tried to give you access to the backend interface. Sadly, this has been misused (despite my kind request not to alter anything on the site), and several times I had to manually restore menu items, articles, or other settings. From now on, access to the backend site is blocked. Most features of SimpleCalendar can be accessed on the frontend, so there shouldn't be any problem with this measure. And of course, you can download SC and test it free of charge on your site, with full access. Sorry that I had to come to this conclusion. The Demo site (frontend) can still be accessed here.
